What do candy buyers do?

Candy buyers purchase surplus, short-dated, discontinued and seasonal candy from distributors, retailers, vending operators and manufacturers, usually by the pallet. Instead of consigning or auctioning the product, a candy buyer makes one offer, pays, and arranges pickup.

That matters because candy has a clock. Chocolate, gummies and hard candy all carry a best-by date, and every week closer to that date lowers what stores and wholesale customers will pay. Selling early to a dedicated candy buyer keeps more of the value.

We are a Chicago-based company that buys candy for our own account. We are not a broker, and we do not take a commission. You deal with the buyer directly.

How it works

How selling to candy buyers works in three steps

Most surplus candy sits because selling it is slow. We built our candy buying process around speed, so your product moves while it still has shelf life.

  1. 1

    Send your candy list

Use the short form, email a spreadsheet or text a photo of the pallet tag. Brand, case pack, quantity, best-by date and pickup ZIP is enough.

  2. 2

Get a written offer in 24 hours

We send one clear price with freight already included. There are no call-back games and no lowball-then-adjust surprises.

  3. 3

Accept, get picked up, get paid

Reply yes and we book the carrier and pay for freight. You get paid by wire, ACH or Zelle, as spelled out in your offer.

Candy liquidation

Candy liquidation with candy buyers who actually close

Candy liquidation means turning surplus, short-dated or discontinued candy into cash in a single transaction. Our candy buyers purchase the inventory ourselves, so there is no consignment, no auction fee and no waiting for a sale.

Whether you are clearing a warehouse or last season's shelf, you get one number and one pickup.

Selling to a direct buyer

One offer, one pickup, paid by wire, ACH or Zelle. The fastest option.

Consignment or auction

Fees, an uncertain price and a long wait while the date keeps running.

Marking it down or tossing it

Ties up shelf and warehouse space and often ends in a full write-off.

Pricing

How candy buyers price short-dated candy

Every buyer prices differently, so it helps to know what drives an offer. We look at six things, and each one is on our request form.

  • Brand and product: well-known brands move faster and earn more.
  • Quantity: full pallets and truckloads get better pricing.
  • Best-by date: more days left means a higher offer.
  • Case pack: standard packs are easier to resell.
  • Location: distance to our trucks changes freight cost.
  • Condition and storage: sealed, climate-controlled stock is worth more.

A best-by date is usually about quality, not safety. The USDA's food product dating guidance explains how date labels work, which is why shelf life left still drives value.

Pallet details help too. Tell us how many cases sit on each pallet, whether the pallets are shrink-wrapped, and whether the outer cartons show a UPC and a best-by date. Clean, labeled pallets load faster, cost less to move and let us offer more.

Photos of the pallet tag and a single opened case are enough to confirm a lot. If you have several lots with different dates, list each one separately so each earns its own price.

Questions

Candy buyers FAQ

Candy liquidation is selling surplus, short-dated or discontinued candy in one fast transaction. Candy buyers like us purchase the inventory outright and handle pickup, so you avoid markdowns, consignment fees and write-offs.

Who buys leftover or short-dated candy?

Specialty candy buyers like us. We buy from distributors, retailers, vending operators, brokers and manufacturers, usually by the pallet.

How fast will I get an offer?

Within one business day of receiving your list, usually sooner. The offer arrives by email in writing, with the price, quantities and pickup details.
